Stroll from garden to garden enjoying twinkling tree forms\, sparkling fountains\, and whimsical winter scenes. Since 1997\, the Garden of Lights has been a Baltimore/Washington DC area family holiday tradition. \nThe night wouldn’t be complete without a visit inside the Conservatory to enjoy watching G-Scale model trains wind through a seasonal landscape. DESCRIPTION:Screech and Kestrel \nSaturday\, December 15\, 12:15-12:45 PM\, All Ages \nNational Wildlife Visitor Center\, Patuxent Research Refuge \n10901 Scarlet Tanager Loop\, Laurel\, MD 20708 \n The Visitor Center is located on Powder Mill Road between the Baltimore-Washington Parkway and Rt. 197. \nAll ages; drop-in program: no registration required. \nMeet two of North America’s smallest birds of prey: the American kestrel and eastern screech owl. Both expert hunters\, the American kestrel uses its acrobatic prowess\, while the eastern screech owl is a stealthy silent hunter. \nPrograms are FREE\, however\, donations to The Friends of Patuxent are greatly appreciated! Public programs are designed for individuals/families and require advance reservations by calling 301.497.5887. Programs are subject to changes or cancellation due to weather or low participation.
