DESCRIPTION:Maryland Sierra Club Lobby Night \nMon\, Feb 25\, 2019  •  4:00 PM \nMiller Senate Office Building\, East Room\, 11 Bladen St\, Annapolis\, MD 21411 \nThe 2019 session of the Maryland General Assembly has begun\, and we need YOUR HELP to turn grassroots environmental activism into legislative power in Annapolis.   \nMake your voice heard by attending Sierra Club’s Lobby Night in Annapolis on February 25! \nWrite your legislators to urge them to support our priority bills.  \nOur priorities include: \n\nGet Maryland on the path to achieving 100% clean energy by 2040.\nRequire the Maryland Department of the Environment to fully utilize its authority under the federal Clean Water Act to conduct rigorous\, independent reviews of new\, proposed gas pipelines.\nRequire the state to clearly and explicitly measure the climate and air pollution impacts of proposed large transportation projects\, such as widening highways\, before deciding whether to approve them.\nBan single-use foam food containers\, which litter the land and waters\, and are a major contributor to the plastic pollution overwhelming our oceans.\nAttending Lobby Night is super easy – we schedule legislator meetings for you\, and provide you with fact sheets\, talking points\, and lobbying tips. You bring your passion and dedication. \n\nRSVP for the Sierra Club’s annual Lobby Night!
