Walk is weather dependent and begins at the Visitor Center. At the conclusion of the program participants will review the refuge’s bird checklist. Water bottle and binoculars are recommended. Both expert hunters\, the American kestrel uses its acrobatic prowess\, while the eastern screech owl is a stealthy silent hunter. \nPrograms are FREE\, however\, donations to The Friends of Patuxent are greatly appreciated! Public programs are designed for individuals/families and require advance reservations by calling 301.497.5887. Programs are subject to changes or cancellation due to weather or low participation.
