DESCRIPTION:Register for the Jamboree\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSierra Club 2019 Maryland Jamboree\n \nEvery 2 years\, environmentalists gather in Maryland for our JAMBOREE\, a weekend of educational workshops\, hiking\, yoga\, speakers\, and live music. The Jamboree is where new and existing volunteers to come together to connect with nature lovers and advocates and learn about campaigns to protect our environment.  \nThe 2019 Jamboree will be October 11th-13th in Washington County at the Shepherd’s Spring Retreat and Conference Center. Will you join us for the weekend? \nThis year’s Jamboree is themed Outdoors for All: Get Inspired\, Get Connected and Lead. We share the environment with everyone\, and we stand together to explore\, enjoy and protect our planet. Everyone should have access to clean air\, water and the environment and be able to connect with nature. \nWe’re pleased to announce that Krish O’Mara Vignarajah will be our keynote speaker! DESCRIPTION:Pachamama Alliance’s Drawdown Workshop:\nDrawdown Solutions: Getting Into Action\n\nPart 1: Sunday\, October 13 • 2 – 4:30 pm\nPart 2: Sunday\, October 20 • 2 – 4:30 pm\nPart 3: Sunday\, November 3 • 2 – 4:30 pm\nPart 4: Sunday\, November 10 • 2 – 4:30 pm\nPart 5: Sunday\, December 8 • 2 – 4:30 pm \nTakoma Park Community Center\, Azalea Room\n7500 Maple Ave.\, Takoma Park\, MD \nWe would like to invite everyone to The Pachamama Alliance‘s Drawdown workshop\, 5-part series\, entitled “Drawdown Solutions: Getting Into Action” which will begin on Sunday\, October 13\, from 2:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. It is free and will be held in the Takoma Park Community Center\, Azalea Room at 7500 Maple Ave.\, Takoma Park. It will be held for five Sundays on the following dates: October 13\, October 20\, November 3\, and November 10 (Please notice it is weekly except for a 2-week break between October 20 and November 3). The fifth and final workshop will be held a month later on Sunday\, December 8 at 2:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. and will conclude with a pot luck. \nThis is a 5-part series that “supports you in finding your unique contribution to reversing global warming.” The workshops will be led by Rosemary Hodges\, Michael O’Hora and Paula Sanjines from Takoma Park Mobilization Environmental Committee and will include videos of Paul Hawken and others\, small and large group activities\, handouts\, and homework. We will be looking at the “100 Solutions for Reversing Global Warming”\, familiarizing ourselves more fully with them and selecting one for a plan of action. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFrom there\, we will discuss the 4 Levels of Action–Individual/Family & Friends; Community/Schools/Workplaces; Municipal/Structural/Systemic; and Policy/Legislation. In the 4th session we will come up with our own concrete Action Plan to get involved with one’s solution of interest\, either individually or with a group. After a month we will meet one last time to discuss our progress and accomplishments in achieving our plan of action to reverse global warming.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nContact rmhodges103@gmail.com and we will reserve you a spot.
