DESCRIPTION:If you love Rock Creek and want to help protect it\, you can become a Stream Team Leader and be an ambassador to your community for Rock Creek and the stormwater runoff that threatens it. You must be trained as a Stream Team Leader before hosting any events with Rock Creek Conservancy. \n\nTwo part training: Monday June 14th AND Wednesday June 16th\, 5-6:30 PM [register here]\n\nYou can invite friends\, neighbors\, schools\, scout troops\, and community groups to join at any time\, and we encourage you to work with groups with an interest in Rock Creek. These trainings will also prepare you to be a site leader for our annual Extreme Cleanup event! \nStream Team Leaders are community ambassadors who support a healthy Rock Creek by engaging their communities in stormwater mitigation and park restoration. As a Stream Team Leader\, you are responsible for:\n\n\n\nOrganizing at least two cleanup events per year\nVisiting your stretch of stream or designated patch of watershed regularly to observe changes\nNotifying RCC (and the appropriate authorities) of any issues observed\nConducting outreach; presenting at two or more community functions or hosting community education events\nReporting activities\, data\, and volunteer service hours to Rock Creek Conservancy
