SUMMARY:CEEJH Symposium on EJ and Health Disparities
DESCRIPTION:On behalf of the Community Engagement\, Environmental Justice\, & Health (CEEJH) program in the University of Maryland School of Public Health\, we are pleased to invite you to the CEEJH-UMD Environmental Justice & Health Disparities Symposium to be held September 11-16\, 2023.\n \nSeptember 11-12 will be virtual. September 13 will be a live Advocacy Day. September 14-16 will be live at the University of Maryland Stamp Student Union.  \nREGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN. The symposium is free!  \nREGISTER HERE (virtual) and REGISTER HERE (in-person)! \n  \nThe CEEJH-UMD Symposium on Environmental Justice & Health Disparities (#UMDejsymposium2023) will convene community members\, advocates\, nonprofit organizers\, policymakers\, researchers\, EJ professionals\, and students for an in-depth examination of ongoing environmental and climate justice issues affecting the local DC-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) region and communities nationally.  \nThe symposium will take place virtually on September 11-12\, 2023\, and in-person on September 14-16\, 2023 at the University of Maryland Stamp Student Union. \nThe in-person event days on September 14-16 will include a breakfast\, daily sessions\, a lunch break\, a viewing of “the Smell of Money” and a reception on Thursday evening\, and a closing plenary on Saturday from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. \nThe Symposium theme is “People\, Power\, & Politics\,” highlighting energy justice\, climate change\, power dynamics in environmental justice\, and the use of technology in environmental justice work.
