SUMMARY:Weed Warriors & Litter Pickup
DESCRIPTION:Join us Saturday 1/10 for Weed Warriors and Litter Pickup!\nWe’ll meet at Malcolm King Park to remove invasive plants and learn about the native plants that are found there. Under the guidance of experienced Weed Warriors\, we’ll pull out plants like multiflora rose\, porcelain berry\, and oriental bittersweet that crowd out the beautiful native plants and the wildlife they support. \nWe will also be picking up litter if that’s more your speed! Together\, we can make a difference for all the people\, pets\, and wildlife that call our greenway home. \nAfter we have improved the park for the enjoyment of all\, we will spend some time enjoying it ourselves! \nWhen? Saturday 1/10 from 10am-12pm \nWhere? Malcolm King Park at the School Drive Entrance. (Find the exact location in Google Maps here.) \nImportant Info: Wear long pants and sturdy shoes. Be aware that the plants can be thorny. All equipment will be provided. \nWant SSL Hours? No Problem! Teenagers must wear the appropriate clothing\, bring water and a snack\, and be accompanied by an adult. \nPlease RSVP to Mary Hlavinka\, mjhlavinka@gmail.com\, so we will be sure to have enough equipment for everyone (and so we can contact you in case of cancellations for weather). Also contact Mary with questions about work days. \nThank you for helping to protect the intrinsic beauty of our watershed! \nUpcoming Dates: \n\nSaturday February 21 from 10am-12pm\nSunday March 8 from 10am-12pm\n\nWant to host events like this for another area of our trail?  Become a Section Steward\, a lead volunteer for your favorite part of the Muddy Branch. Email president@muddybranch.org for more information.
