SUMMARY:Plastics' Impact on Human Health: A Free Beyond Plastics Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Plastics’ Impact on Human Health: A Free Beyond Plastics Webinar\nThursday\, January 12\, 2023  •  7:00 PM  8:00 PM \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlastic is a paradox. It is at once the signature material of our age and also one of the greatest environmental and health threats we now face. Its production drives climate change\, releasing massive quantities of greenhouse gasses\, and during its use and degradation it releases an uninterrupted flow of chemicals and microplastics. Plastics and their additives have been found in every corner of the ecosystem\, including human blood\, lungs\, and all three sides of the placenta. But what is it doing there? It may be too soon to know precisely\, but by looking at animal models and the known toxic effects of plasticizing chemicals\, researchers can tell us a lot. \nJoin Beyond Plastics at 7:00 pm ET US on Thursday\, January 12 when pediatrician and toxicologist\, Dr. Philip J. Landrigan\, will summarize what we know\, what we don’t know\, and what researchers strongly suspect about the impact of plastics on human health and future generations. \nRegister now for this webinar on Thursday\, January 12\, 2023 at 7:00 PM ET US.

SUMMARY:Stop the Flow of Money. Stop the Flow of Fossil Fuels.
DESCRIPTION:Join Stop the Money Pipeline and our partners on December 14th at 5pm PT / 8pm ET on Zoom to hear about our analysis of what’s next for the climate movement\, and how you can take part in stopping the flow of Wall Street money to oil\, gas\, coal\, and deforestation. \n\nThe actions this fall have been creative\, including art\, music\, and costumes. In Albany\, New York\, the red rebel brigade joined a protest outside of TD Bank. In Brooklyn\, activists dressed up as Mr. Moneybags and brought bagpipes to branch locations of Citi\, Chase\, and Bank of America. In Sacramento\, Denver\, and New Orleans\, activists staged Halloween actions\, dressing up as endangered species or zombie bankers. Leaders from different faith communities protested multiple times outside of BlackRock’s corporate headquarters in New York City – at one protest\, 27 faith leaders were arrested. \nRSVP to join us on December 14th to learn more about what’s next and how we will keep up the momentum well into next year to stop fossil fuels.

SUMMARY:Tackling Fossilflation: A Toolkit or Price Stability and a Just Transition

Register here to get the Zoom link\, and you can submit a question for the panel\, too. \n \nMany of us have been hit by rising prices over the last year. Black and brown communities\, and low-income families are hurting the most. The Fed and the government say the best way to get prices under control is to raise interest rates. But this hurts working communities even more. \nJoin Positive Money US for an exciting panel discussion and audience Q&A with an incredible line-up of speakers.
