SUMMARY:Brews & Bulbs lightbulb exchange: True Respite Brewing Co.\, Derwood
DESCRIPTION:Brews & Bulbs lightbulb exchange: True Respite Brewing Co.\, Derwood \n\nFriday\, February 28\, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm –\nTrue Respite Brewing Company\, 7301 Calhoun Pl #600\, Derwood\n\n \nGuess what’s brewing? For the entire month of FeBREWary\, we will be visiting local breweries to bring you another opportunity to swap out old\, inefficient bulbs. Why? Because we want you to be able to spend more money at local breweries this month and all year round and one way to do that is by lowering your utility bills. \nOne of the easiest things you can do is switch to LED bulbs. On average\, LEDs consume 80% less energy when compared to incandescent light bulbs and that means more money in your pocket – and more money for beer! When people visit one of these breweries during the month of FeBREWary\, we will swap up to 4 bulbs at no cost! Bring us your old incandescent and CFL bulbs and we will give you LEDs. \n  \nWhat is FeBREWary?\nAccording to the Brewers Association of Maryland\, FeBREWary is the official month-long celebration of Maryland craft beer. Maryland is a bubbling craft beer destination. The state is home to farm breweries\, brewpubs\, and manufacturing breweries. Whether you are a Maryland resident or a tourist planning a craft beer getaway\, FeBREWary is the perfect time to visit and explore Maryland’s breweries. \nFor more information: https://mygreenmontgomery.org/2020/guess-whats-brewing-another-brews-and-bulbs-tour-in-febrewary/

SUMMARY:Weed Warrior Cleanup Event\, Gaithersburg
DESCRIPTION:Weed Warrior Event\nSaturday\, February 15th 10-12 noon \nJoin us for a winter Weed Warrior event at Washingtonian Woods Park\, Gaithersburg. The weather should be perfect for attacking invasives that are harming our natives.  \nWhere to park: Get to it by turning off Muddy Branch Road at Midsummer Drive\, and then take the first right into the parking area on Hillside Lake Terrace. Park closest to the park. \nWhich Invasives: We will be working on Oriental Bittersweet\, an invasive vine that truly impacts trees and the general beauty of the watershed. There is also some Mulitflora Rose in this area we will address as well. We will learn the difference between the invasives and native grape and poison ivy…both of which we want to leave healthy. \nWhat to bring & What to wear: Bring hand-held pruners\, and wear sturdy jeans. Expect to be in moist soils and on slopes. Students can earn SSL hours\, too – bring your form and our supervisor can sign for the time worked. \nEmail Paul or Mary at phlavinka@gmail.com with questions or to RSVP.  See you on the trail! \n

SUMMARY:Brews & Bulbs lightbulb exchange: Love Thy Beer Event\, Silver Spring
DESCRIPTION:Brews & Bulbs lightbulb exchange: Love Thy Beer Event\, Silver Spring \n\nFriday\, February 14\, 2020 from 6:00 – 10:00 pm –\nLove Thy Beer Event\, Silver Spring Civic Center\, Silver Spring\n\n \nGuess what’s brewing? \nOther Upcoming Brews & Bulbs: \n\nWednesday\, February 19\, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm – Denizen’s Brewing Company\, 1115 East-West Highway\, Silver Spring\nThursday\, February 20\, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm – Elder Pine Brewing and Blending\, 4200 Sundown Rd\, Gaithersburg\nThursday\, February 27\, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm – Astro Lab Brewing\, 8216 Georgia Ave\, Silver Spring\nFriday\, February 28\, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm – True Respite Brewing Company\, 7301 Calhoun Pl #600\, Derwood\n\nFor more information: https://mygreenmontgomery.org/2020/guess-whats-brewing-another-brews-and-bulbs-tour-in-febrewary/
