SUMMARY:Leaders in Energy : 9th Annual Green Jobs Forum – Find Your Path into a Green Job
DESCRIPTION:On September 22nd from 3:30-7:00 PM EDT\, Leaders in Energy is holding its 9th Annual Green Jobs Forum virtually – “Find Your Path to a Green Job.” \nThe event will include three key topics. The first is Green Job Opportunities. We will hear about hiring underway at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as it adds a large number of staff with wide-ranging skills to its Clean Energy Corps. Opportunities can also be found as start-ups and businesses grow in the green sector (e.g.\, the circular economy\, carbon reduction\, alternative transportation and more). This can help people create their own jobs and jobs for others. We’ll hear from representatives with the US DOE\, and Bethesda Green’s Innovation Lab whose programs support entrepreneurs\, along with other speakers.   \nThe second topic will be centered around Educational Pathways to a Green Job.  It will focus on traditional educational pathways\, as well as non-traditional ways such as certificates\, apprenticeships and transferable skills. Alternative educational options are becoming more prevalent along with a greater diversity of degree programs.  Institutions are creating short-form certificate programs to equip current and aspiring members of the workforce with critical skills and knowledge to bring sustainability practices to an organization. We’ll hear about opportunities like these from a number of groups\, including the International Society of Sustainability Professionals.  \nThe third topic will focus on Being Inspired by and Learning from Others who have Landed or Created Green Jobs. We will hear from a diverse group of green professionals who landed or created their own jobs in the public and private sectors. They will share about their experiences in order to help others along this path. If your aspiration is to move into the green jobs world\, this panel will be both encouraging and informative.   \nThe Forum will conclude with Creating Networking Connections – a half-hour session for attendees to meet one another and to share about the event. \nRegister below and find your pathway to a green job! \nThis year\, we’ve created three different payment tiers\, to make admission work for your budget.\nChoose the payment that’s right for you! \n\nTO REGISTER: https://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/eventReg?oeidk=a07ejcoyoofac464820&oseq=&c=&ch=
