SUMMARY:Learn how you can MakeSoil & help reverse climate change!
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to MakeSoil and reverse global warming! \nWHEN: Saturday\, December 8\, 2:00 – 4:00pm \nWHERE: Bethesda Chevy Chase Regional Services Center\, 4850 Edgemoor Lane\, Bethesda Conf. Room A (near the Bethesda Metro)  \nPlease join me on SATURDAY DEC. 8 @2pm to meet Josh Whiton\, founder of MakeSoil.org and learn how his online tool can help us compost our food scraps\, build community\, and reverse global warming!  \nEvery day\, Montgomery COunty residents throw thousands of pounds of compostable kitchen scraps into the garbage. That trash is burned in the Dickerson incinerator\, producing toxins\, CO2\, and other greenhouse gases.  By composting those scraps\, we can reduce pollution\, build healthy soil\, AND help draw CO2 out of the atmosphere!  \nBut not everyone has the time or energy to compost at their our home. That’s where MakeSoil.org comes in. Make Soil is an online tool that helps connect composters (“soil makers”) with people who want to contribute to composting but can’t do it themselves (“soil supporters”). Like community solar\, which allows everyone to benefit from solar energy even if they don’t have an available rooftop\, MakeSoil helps people who don’t have yard space support composting in their neighborhoods.  \nI met Josh at the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco in Sept and was very excited by his presentation and website. Join us on Saturday to hear about his new project – leave with info about how YOU can get started making soil and help other do it too! \nQuestions? Email me at danielle.meitiv@gmail.com
