SUMMARY:DCEcoWomen [Virtual] Sound Bath\, A Full-Body Listening Experience
DESCRIPTION:[Virtual] Sound Bath\, A Full-Body Listening Experience\n\n\n\nThursday\, October 29th\, 2020 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm\n\n\n\n“Sound is an incredibly effective way to support our well-being and bring the mind and body back into balance and alignment. Join us for a sound bath\, an immersive meditative experience during which you will hear sounds from instruments like crystal singing bowls\, gongs and koshi chimes that support the body to reach meditative states (also called delta or theta states). It is from this place that the body can regenerate and restore itself on a cellular level\, and the mind can reach new levels of clarity and focus. \nDuring this virtual sound bath\, you are encouraged to sit or lay in a comfortable\, supported position\, ideally using headphones that plug directly into a laptop for optimal sound quality. There is absolutely no previous meditation experience necessary to participate. \nEvent hosted on October 29 from 6 to 7pm \nClick here to register>>>

SUMMARY:Sierra Club Natural Places Monthly Meeting CAMPAIGN for NATURE 30x30 panel
DESCRIPTION:Sierra Club Natural Places Monthly Meeting CAMPAIGN for NATURE 30×30 panel\nSat\, Oct 17\, 2020 • 2:00 PM  – 3:30 PM  \nDuring this time of crises we have discovered how important our natural places are.   Therefore\, on October 17th\, 2-4pm\, Natural Places Committee will discuss the international advocacy Campaign for Nature with the goal of conserving at least 30% of land and water by 2030—which is why it is also called the 30 X 30 Campaign! \nThe 30 x 30 campaign is a visionary initiative to try to preserve 30 percent of America’s lands and coastal waters by the year 2030 — an intermediate goal toward eventually protecting 50 percent of the earth’s surface for Nature.  It is considered by many biologists as necessary to counter an increasing crisis of species and biodiversity loss — and also the climate crisis. \nOur first speaker is Chris Yoder\, long time Sierra Club activist and expert on Natural Lands. Our second speaker is Luke Chesek\, who serves on the City Council of Mount Rainier\, MD\, where he is writing an ordinance to create a native plant network throughout the city\, one piece of his strategic vision to build a more sustainable city. He will discuss native plant corridors and greenways\, one of the pieces of the Campaign.   \nYou will leave this presentation with tools to help preserve public lands. We need your voice to shape policy here in Maryland and to participate in the national decisions about our protected lands! \nFOR MORE INFORMATION AND TO REGISTER
