DESCRIPTION:Organizing Your Block \nDo you want to be a part of bettering your neighborhood? \nAre you interested in taking on a leadership role in your neighborhood or a neighborhood project\, but don’t know where to start? \nDo you want to connect with people in other neighborhoods who are working on similar issues or projects? \nA half day workshop will be held\, to talk about asset based organizing – help people look through a positive lens\, at their community. \nIn this workshop\, you will learn about tools and information needed to effectively problem solve in your neighborhood. \nWill practice skills for \n\nTraining on door knocking\nInitial engagement – one on one relationship building\nHow to effectively run a group or house meeting\nPlanning a neighborhood action\n\nHeld on Saturday July 29th\, It is a 4 ½  (10 AM to 2:30) hour workshop.  FREE. And lunch will be provided. \nIt is at the Ballroom at Wheaton-Glenn (1400 Arcola Ave) close to downtown Wheaton Business district.
