SUMMARY:Nature Forward Conservation Cafe: Yes\, in My HOA Back (and Front) Yard!
DESCRIPTION:Native plant gardens fight climate change\, protect pollinators\, and are amazingly beautiful. So why do so many Homeowners Associations (HOAs) want to ban them? \nJoin us on Zoom on November 16 @ 7pm!\nRegister for the Nov 16 Conservation Café \nBelieve it or not\, far too many HOAs in the DC region refuse to allow residents to maintain earth-friendly native plant gardens on their own property. In the face of the current climate crisis\, we must convert more of these lawns into sustainable landscapes. But how?  \nReserve your seat now for an exclusive Zoom presentation with Nancy Lawson\, nature writer and founder of The Humane Gardener. She will be joined by Janet Crouch\, Melinda Soltys\, Barbara Ryan\, and Mani Kurian\, leading experts in MD and VA who advocate allowing sustainable landscaping in HOAs. You’ll find out how they are driving positive change across our region. Join this timely discussion and learn how you can help! \n \nNature Forward is strongly advocating for new legislation supporting this work in Virginia. Your $10-$15 donation for this Conservation Café helps support our ongoing conservation work!
