SUMMARY:Weed Warriors Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Join us Saturday 8/2 for Weed Warriors!\n \nWe’ll meet at Malcolm King Park to remove invasive plants and learn about the native plants that are found there. Under the guidance of experienced Weed Warriors\, we’ll pull out plants like multiflora rose\, porcelain berry\, and oriental bittersweet that crowd out the beautiful native plants and the wildlife they support. \nWe will not be picking up litter this month. But\, as always\, there will be time to wander and enjoy the beauty of this gorgeous park after the event and have fun with other volunteers! \nWhen? Saturday\, August 2 from 8am-10am \nWhere? Malcolm King Park at the School Drive Entrance. (Find the exact location in Google Maps here.) \nImportant Info: Wear long pants and sturdy shoes. Be aware that the plants can be thorny. All equipment will be provided. \nWant SSL Hours? No Problem! Teenagers must wear the appropriate clothing\, bring water and a snack\, and be accompanied by an adult. \nPlease RSVP to Mary Hlavinka\, mjhlavinka@gmail.com\, so we will be sure to have enough equipment for everyone (and so we can contact you in case of cancellations for weather).
