This virtual event is on electrification and its key role in decarbonizing our energy system. It’s the\u00a0second webinar in LE’s Regeneration series inspired by Paul Hawken’s book, “Regeneration: Ending the climate crisis in one generation<\/a>” and his organization “Regeneration<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.” Both provide an\u00a0encyclopedic\u00a0list of solutions\u00a0<\/a>to address the climate crisis and the regeneration of planetary ecosystems.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Scientists are expecting Earth’s global average temperature in 2024 to be the hottest on record, surpassing 2023 as the titleholder,\u00a0with fossil fuels contributing to more than three-quarters of total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. We need to change how we use energy in our daily lives, communities, and collective society, and we can do it.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to physicist Saul Griffith, if we electrify the whole world economy, using “clean” electricity and efficient technologies, we would\u00a0need less than half\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/span>of the primary energy we currently use.
