That\u2019s why we encourage folks to install conservation landscaping to trap as much storm water as possible and reduce runoff.\u00a0 And that\u2019s also why the Neighbors of the Northwest Branch sponsors cleanups fall and spring. The accumulated trash &#8211; bottles, paper, plastic, Styrofoam, etc. &#8211; must be removed from the stream before it does further damage to this natural treasure.\u00a0 Not only is trash ugly to look at, it is a health hazard for wildlife&#8230;and us.\u00a0 And of course, trash breeds more trash.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">So please join us at Burnt Mills Park East, across Colesville Rd. from the dam. We\u2019ll provide simple instructions, tools, gloves, and bags. Please wear long sleeves, long pants, and shoes that can get muddy.\u00a0 Please also bring water, although water needs will be less than when it&#8217;s hot.
