• Increased funding helps solar owners save more. These grants and loans can help save as much as 50% on the cost of a solar installation. This is an increase from the previous 25% limit.
• More opportunities to apply. The USDA has doubled the number of application cycles. There are now four deadlines per year. The next one is September 30.
• New opportunities for underserved communities. The USDA has updated the application’s scoring system. One highlight is 15 new points for projects located in disadvantaged or distressed communities.
