YMCA Walks the Purple Line Route
When is a health walk more than just a walk?
On Saturday, October 5th the Silver Spring YMCA invites the community to join in their monthly “First Saturdays” walk. Recent walks have gone south to Takoma Park, west to Rock Creek Park, meandered to nearby green spots and parks.
The walk on October 5th will take (approximately) the Purple LIne route, going east on Wayne Avenue to Long Branch and University Avenue.
While we will be walking briskly, there will be the opportunity to observe and talk about what we see along the way with other participants, including staff and officials (invited) working on the Purple Line… And, depending on the group’s energy and end-time, we may even gather at a Long Branch watering hole for an early lunch to debrief and share.
