Board Member – Kathleen Michels, PhD (Neurobiology), a resident of Wheaton MD has more than 30 years experience conducting, managing and reviewing biomedical research related to global public health. In addition, she was one of the founding members of the watershed group Friends of Sligo Creek with a particular focus on water quality and stormwater issues, provides advice and support for other watershed, environmental and public health research groups and helped start the Stormwater Partners Network. She also has a passion for natural habitat restoration and gardening. She currently serves on the board of One Montgomery Green and the public health and zero waste committees of the Maryland Sierra Club.
