February 10, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Join ANS and the U.S. Forest Service’s Office of Urban and Community Forestry for the first Taking Nature Black  Faith-based Roundtable: Grounded in Faith, Rooted in Nature. This compelling discussion will happen virtually, via Zoom, Thursday, February 10,

2:00 – 3:30 pm and is FREE and open to the public.

Fred Tutman, Patuxent Riverkeeper, will join us as the moderator. Stay tuned for more information about Fred.

Today, we encourage you to learn more about the following speakers:

  • Tamara Toles O’Laughlin, Climate Strategist, Environmental Advocate, and President and CEO of the Environmental Grantmakers Association, NYC

“Toles O’Laughlin grew up with a mother who was a waterkeeper, an activist dedicated to safeguarding water resources, so her passion for protecting the planet runs deep. Her perspective is informed by a lifetime of work on environmental justice concerns as a lawyer and advocate—from toxic exposures in communities to campaigns for Indigenous land sovereignty across the United States.”

Read more about Toles O’Laughlin in her interview with Adi Magazine HERE.

  • Pastor Michael S. Martin, of the Stillmeadow Community Church in Baltimore

“The focus of the Stillmeadow PeacePark is to promote a ‘creation connected’ focus on spiritual health,” said Pastor Michael.  “Right here in this urban setting, which is ripe for a renewed appreciation of the power of a healthy natural ecosystem and desperate for long-range investment in a healthy human ecosystem, is where a peace park needs to thrive.”
