Its impacts, and our growing efforts to contain it

Please join Conservation Montgomery member Phil Jakobsberg for a presentation on the effects of climate change, how our energy sources are changing in response to it, and how through carbon pricing we can move more quickly to non-fossil fuel alternatives. 

Phil recently attended a training for the Leadership Corps of the Climate Reality Project. He will share what he learned about the effects of climate change – the impacts of which are larger and wider in scope than many of us know – and the solutions that are moving us away from carbon emitting energy.

Phil will also discuss the details behind a carbon pricing bill that was just introduced into the Maryland Assembly, and how that bill fits into Maryland’s overall efforts to reach the mandate of 40% emissions reductions from 2006 levels by 2030.

Our partners with the Asbury Methodist Village community are the hosts for this event. We are very excited about working with an ace team of conservationist at Asbury this year!

Directions:

Come to Asbury through the 301 Odendhal Avenue gate. Tell them you are coming for the climate change solutions talk. Once through the gate, turn right at the first stop sign and then right again at the second right turn entryway. You are directly in front of the entry to Hefner Hall (large room in front of you once in the door). Enter Hefner lecture hall by going either right or left around the blue wall with stars (and maybe other decorations). Just remember, please do not park in resident parking. There are many additional places in the same parking lots.
