Earth&Mind Compost Cycle—How to Start Composting Today

Dear fellow students and residents of Montgomery County,
Join Earth&Mind on Wednesday, August 17 at 7 PM on Zoom
to discuss how expanding composting and compost use locally can address food waste disposal with our guest speaker, Director of Composting for Community Project from the Institute for Local Self-Reliance (ILSR), Brenda Platt!
Student participants will also be eligible for SSL hours. The project is a Montgomery County Girl Scout-led project and might be of particular interest to OMG’s network of MCPS students and others.
What you will gain from this event…
1. Where your yard trimmings and food scraps go and the push to divert wasted food from disposal
2. The basics of how to compost, what the process entails and the benefits
3. How you can start composting or support local composting efforts
