Montgomery County, Maryland—Rise for Climate! Rally

Now at Executive Office Building (EOB) cafeteria, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 20850
Due to inclement weather, we have made the decision to move Rise for Climate indoors. There are likely to be significant rain and wind gusts tomorrow, and we want to ensure that R4C is a safe and enjoyable event for all.
The rally will now take place at the Executive Office Building (EOB) cafeteria at 101 Monroe St. in Rockville. There is free parking across the street from the EOB in the jury parking lot. The site is two blocks from Rockville Metro station.
Otherwise, all aspects of the event remain unchanged. The speakers, music, and kids activities will all still take place as scheduled. And over 18 local climate groups will host tables.
This moment is a crucial time in our County and our world. We need a global —AND local — climate movement that our leaders will hear and respond to. Join us at Rise for Climate tomorrow and be a part of it!
On Saturday and Sunday, September 8-9, 2018, thousands of rallies will be held in cities and towns around the world to demand our local leaders commit to building a fossil-free world that works for all of us.
Join residents of Montgomery County, Maryland, as we rally in the City of Rockville on Sunday, September 9th to hold our local leaders and businesses to account, and to demand that they walk the talk on climate action. Hear powerful speakers, enjoy live music, and learn about organizations in our County fighting for local leadership on climate.

- MoCo Councilmember Marc Elrich
- Climate Scientist and Community Activist Danielle Meitiv
- Zero Hour youth climate march organizer Sebastian Medina-Tayac
