Minor location change for our litter pickup this weekend: We’ll meet at the School Drive entrance of Malcolm King Park to remove invasive plants and learn about the native plants that are found there. Under the guidance of experienced Weed Warriors, we’ll pull out plants like multiflora rose, porcelain berry, and oriental bittersweet that crowd out the beautiful native plants and the wildlife they support.
We will also be picking up litter if that’s more your speed! Wander and enjoy the beauty of this gorgeous park after the event and have fun with other volunteers.
When? Saturday 5/10 from 10am-12pm
Where? Malcolm King Park at the School Drive Entrance. (Find the exact location in Google Maps here.)
Important Info: Wear long pants and sturdy shoes. Be aware that the plants can be thorny. All equipment will be provided.
Want SSL Hours? No Problem! Teenagers must wear the appropriate clothing, bring water and a snack, and be accompanied by an adult.
Please RSVP to Mary Hlavinka, mjhlavinka@gmail.com, so we will be sure to have enough equipment for everyone (and so we can contact you in case of cancellations for weather). Also contact Mary with questions about work days.
Thank you for helping to protect the intrinsic beauty of our watershed!
