Drawdown Solutions: Getting Into Action

We would like to invite everyone to The Pachamama Alliance‘s Drawdown workshop, 5-part series, entitled “Drawdown Solutions: Getting Into Action” which will begin on Sunday, October 13, from 2:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. It is free and will be held in the Takoma Park Community Center, Azalea Room at 7500 Maple Ave., Takoma Park. It will be held for five Sundays on the following dates: October 13, October 20, November 3, and November 10 (Please notice it is weekly except for a 2-week break between October 20 and November 3). The fifth and final workshop will be held a month later on Sunday, December 8 at 2:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. and will conclude with a pot luck.

This is a 5-part series that “supports you in finding your unique contribution to reversing global warming.” The workshops will be led by Rosemary Hodges, Michael O’Hora and Paula Sanjines from Takoma Park Mobilization Environmental Committee and will include videos of Paul Hawken and others, small and large group activities, handouts, and homework. We will be looking at the “100 Solutions for Reversing Global Warming”, familiarizing ourselves more fully with them and selecting one for a plan of action. 
From there, we will discuss the 4 Levels of Action–Individual/Family & Friends; Community/Schools/Workplaces; Municipal/Structural/Systemic; and Policy/Legislation. In the 4th session we will come up with our own concrete Action Plan to get involved with one’s solution of interest, either individually or with a group. After a month we will meet one last time to discuss our progress and accomplishments in achieving our plan of action to reverse global warming.
