The 2021 Maryland legislative session wrapped up on April 12, and what a wild ride! We accomplished big things together!
Join Sierra Club friends and neighbors via Zoom on Tuesday evening, May 18, 7:00 – 8:30 PM, to celebrate the important environmental victories, hear from our legislative champions, and thank our dedicated staff and scores of volunteers who contributed to our success!
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, and some disappointments, we have many important victories to celebrate. And celebrate them we will! Bring your party hat and a beverage for toasting!
Thanks to your support and tons of volunteer action during Maryland’s 2021 legislative session, we helped pass legislation to increase funding for public transit, require that climate change be considered in state decisions about new electricity generation facilities, advance electric vehicles, move toward zero waste, and much more. We submitted testimony on almost 120 bills – a record number for our Chapter! We couldn’t have done this without you, so let’s celebrate our victories together!
