When you throw stuff away, where does it go? Learn how landfills are designed and environmental impacts are mitigated at Prince George’s County’s landfill in Upper Marlboro, MD. The tour will include the leachate treatment plant and methane collection system. Contact: Martha.Ainsworth@mdsierra.org.Cost: Free

Signup Instructions: All participants must register. If you have to cancel, please contact the leader so that someone else can take your place. If you try to register and get the message that the tour is at capacity, contact the leader and request to be put on a the wait list in case someone cancels.

Bring: Wear trousers and closed-toe shoes. Hat and sunscreen recommended.

Signup Restrictions: The tour is limited to 15 participants. Technical tour, not suitable for young children.

Additional Directions: Directions will be provided to those who register. The tour does NOT start at the public entrance to the landfill on White House Road. Please do not go to that entrance.
