TCM MoCo Zoom Meeting in Solidarity

Sunday, April 5th   •  4:00 – 5:30 pm

We had over 20 people join our last Zoom meeting on March 22!  And as discussed at our last meeting, we will have a standing meeting for at least the next 6 weeks, on alternate Sundays, beginning April 5th, at 4:00-5.30 pm. On our Zoom meetings we will also talk about how we can support each other during this difficult time.

In our last meeting we discussed the following four areas of focus for our Chapter this Spring: 

• Tracking the development and progress of the County’s emergency Climate Action and Resilience Plan (CARP). 
• Engaging the government and county residents to move from normal to emergency mode.  The TCM Strategy for Montgomery County document is a proposal for achieving this goal.We look forward to talking about this strategy on our call this Sunday.
• Focusing on the Maryland Legislative agenda in May.  Even though the legislative session ended abruptly in early March, there may be a limited opportunity in late May if a special session is convened.  Our priority is passage of the Community Choice Energy bill which could make a significant contribution towards the County meeting it’s emergency climate goals.
• Working with Adriana Hochberg in the County Exec office on the research and development of a climate test.
